The Women’s Economic Development NETWORK (“the NETWORK”), a Bloomberg Philanthropies initiative hosted by Panorama Global, is a global network of nonprofit organizations. The NETWORK’s goal is to increase impact and reach by connecting grantee organizations to share best practices, establishing strategic partnerships and providing capacity support to the organizations’ leaders working to advance women’s economic independence around the world.
Position Summary
The Senior Measurement and Evaluation (M&E) Manager is an exciting position for a creative, strategic M&E professional who is passionate about collaborative building of new tools and forms of evaluating. Reporting into the Executive Director, the Senior M&E Manager will work closely with partner organizations and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and within Panorama Global to identify the most effective tools and ways to measure the development and impact of the NETWORK. This position is great for someone who thrives in a startup environment, is a self-starter and likes to continuously search for the best solutions.
The Senior M&E Manager will be responsible for establishing the NETWORK’s M&E system, developing the relevant measurement tools, and ensuring that the initiative demonstrates impact and produces quality reports and technical briefs.
This position reports to the Executive Director of the Women’s Economic Development NETWORK (“Executive Director”) and is based in New York City in a hybrid arrangement (in-person and virtual). This is an exempt, full-time role that is at-will and grant-funded.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with the Executive Director and relevant stakeholders, develop/adapt appropriate M&E designs and strategies that track the results of organizational interventions.
- Ensure that the work of NETWORK partners can be well monitored and evaluated, with appropriate indicators of success, impact measurements, and communication of results to stakeholders.
- Develop and/or coordinate performance monitoring plans for NETWORK partners.
- Manage M&E activities related to the performance of interventions, including M&E design, selection and measurement of appropriate indicators, development of appropriate M&L recording and reporting forms and mechanisms, data quality assurance processes and systems, database maintenance, appropriate data analysis, and appropriate dissemination of results.
- Develop and lead the implementation of a robust learning agenda for continuous collaboration, learning, and adaptation.
- Prepare the submission of quarterly reports summarizing the progress against the annual work plan, including: progress (activities completed, benchmarks achieved, performance standards completed) since the last reporting period; problems encountered and how they were resolved or are still outstanding; proposed solutions to outstanding problems and success stories.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to develop tools and guidelines that support decentralized evaluation activities where effective and appropriate.
- Provide Executive Director with strategic advice and a comprehensive understanding and reporting of operational issues related to the activities and initiatives in the portfolio, including opportunities for future activities/programming in alignment with the NETWORK’s strategy.
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, respect, and impact with better care for everyone.
- Engage with and manage external contractors and/or consultants as required.
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience, or equivalent in M&E work with.
- Experience being part of a small dynamic team where you have been doing a lot with a little and you have a strong vision for the future.
- Ability to foster strong internal and external relationships.
- Highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management skills including the ability to plan and the ability to collaborate with other teams and across stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills. Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Professional tact and diplomacy and confidentiality required.
- Ability to work well in a dynamic and highly motivated team with minimal supervision
- Experience navigating sensitive operating environments and using interpersonal and mediation skills in respectful, collaborative, and diplomatic ways.
- Experience in crafting strategy to serve diverse constituents and sectors with cross-cultural competence.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; able to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities comfortably.
- Ability to manage teams, serve as a leader, and collaborate in a multi-faceted organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language, able to effectively synthesize information to reach diverse audiences and build consensus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and willingness to learn other software programs.
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for at least 5 years working in a startup environment.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience coordinating of working groups, cohorts, chapters, courses, or multiple-client portfolios.
- Experience operating in different cultural contexts, such as the Global South, the philanthropic sector, and social change organizations across intersectional or disparate issues.
- Ability to bring together thought leaders and facilitate generative conversations to identify good strategies and practices to make change.
- Knowledge of human-centered design.
- Additional language proficiencies welcomed.

Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary for this role is between $105,000 and $120,000. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors: candidate skill and experience; room for growth within the band; and internal equity across the team.
