Community Health Impact Coalition is hiring a Communications Lead.


Community Health Impact Coalition is making professional community health workers (proCHWs) the norm worldwide by changing guidelines, funding, and policy. We research to equip international norm setters with evidence. We advocate to influence global financing institutions. And we activate in-country CHW networks to win proCHW national policy. CHIC includes CHWs and global health organizations in 60 countries. We exist because CHWs work. Our vision is quality care for all, including those who provide it.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

CHIC is looking for an experienced Communications Lead to support the Senior Communications Manager in the full suite of communications delivery, including core communications, advocacy, external engagement and events. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, creative and collaborative teammate, with a strong growth mindset.

POSITION INFORMATION 

Term: Full time

Level: Grade 2, Band 1, refer to compensation policy

Location: Global Remote with at least 3.5 hours workday overlap with UTC

  • Grow engagement with CHIC’s core audiences (norm setters, funders and policymakers) across owned platforms (social media, newsletters and website) resulting in improved lead scores.
     
  • Support CHIC’s calendar of external engagement events and opportunities, including support in delivering excellent UNGA and WHA side events.
 
  • Assist in delivering a multi-audience, multi-channel communications plan that influences decision-makers, inspires others in community health, platforms CHWs, and strengthens our reputation.

 
 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Core Communications:
    • Support development and sharing of external-facing communications collateral and creative content for campaigns and launches. 
    • Lead production of quarterly reports. Support production of the Annual Report.
    • Regularly update the Coalition messaging platform, website and assets based on the latest evidence and work.
    • Support storytelling at the Coalition with research, copy drafting, and editing. This includes for blogs and articles, briefs, press releases and case studies.
    • Act as a brand champion, reworking assets and supporting colleagues in brand and messaging application.
    • Feed into monitoring and evaluation, and cross-platform analytics, for communications functions.
       
  • Digital Communications:
    • Run day-to-day posting and engagement on our social media platforms to drive growth in audience reach.
    • Lead on the production of our regular mailers and newsletters with content sourcing and editing, and support of translation of mailers.
    • Make routine website updates and edits, such as logo and photo changes, information updating etc.
    • Support monitoring and evaluation, and cross-platform analytics, for communications functions.
       
  • Events and External Engagement
    • Support planning and execution of Coalition webinars and events; assist with talking points, help coordinate media engagement, and oversee sharing of key takeaways on our platforms.
    • Help create collateral for events, such as one-pagers, briefing packs and merchandise.
    • Support event-related communications and coordination, including managing the events inbox; drafting speaker profiles; maintaining events trackers; and working with the Operations team on post events communications. 
    • Help brief and prepare Coalition leaders and speakers for external relations engagements such as panels, speeches, podcasts and media interviews. 
    • Work with the Senior Communications Manager to elevate CHIC’s unique value proposition and strengthen our brand at external convenings.

KPIs AGAINST WHICH YOU WILL BE ASSESSED

  • Core audience engagement across key channels:
    • Social media (e.g., # impressions, # audience)
    • Website (e.g, # visitors, session duration)
    • Email marketing/newsletters (e.g., open rates, click rates)
  • Coalition co-creation and involvement in campaigns and creative (e.g., # members collaborating on media, graphics, events comms)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience working in a communications role, preferably within a non-profit and coalition environment. 
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to express ideas and thoughts clearly, with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in copywriting and editing for both digital and traditional media.
  • Experienced using a range of software such Word, Excel, SocialBee/Hootsuite, Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp.
  • Able to collate analytics information to drive insights.
  • Confident with learning a brand and supporting brand delivery. 
  • Experience in external engagement and events support
